SINGAPORE – THE RED DOT

The history of Singapore is filled with twists, turns, and triumphs. The incredible story of Singapore tells of a sleepy fishing village that defied the odds to transform into a first-world metropolis. Whether you are a nature lover, a culture enthusiast, a thrill-seeker, or a cocktail connoisseur, Singapore has a wide selection of leisure offerings at your fingertips.

GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE

Singapore consists of a main island and approximately sixty-three surrounding islands and islets, located between Malaysia and Indonesia. Due to its location just one degree north of the equator, Singapore enjoys a tropical climate characterized by hot days and high humidity. The tropical climate means that traditional seasons do not exist here, and the weather remains warm throughout the year, with average temperatures ranging between 25˚C (77˚F) and 31˚C (87.8˚F), and average humidity levels between 70-80% (but it can reach 90% in the mornings).

There are two main monsoon seasons in Singapore, the northeast monsoon from December to March and the southwest monsoon from June to September. During the northeast monsoon, the wet phase lasts from December to January, with moderate to heavy rainfall in the afternoons and early evenings, while the dry phase from February to March is cool and pleasant. The southwest monsoon season experiences rain and thunderstorms between dawn and noon, but the thunderstorms usually last only about thirty minutes. May and June are typically hot and dry months.
